2HI 4HI Issue
I called both of our local parts stores here and they call it a transfer case motor... Does that sound right? I asked about a transfer case switch and was told it is sold complete as a unit I guess??? The cheaper one is $246 + tax with a life time warranty...
NO...don't go there (yet)...Ask them about GM# 15664811...either get that number or they can most likely 'cross' it to another manufacturer...Dorman (popular) has it as number #600500...WAY less $....Jerry....PS both are the same part and I'm sure others make it as well...

In fact I am heading out the door in a bit and I am gonna just buy it for him. Is it hard to install, like it looks easy from what I can see, don't want to miss anything though...
I use a 25/32nds open end wrench to get it out..(you obviously could use its metric equiv)..threads in and threads out. There is one propr way the 3 hose connector goes on..you'll see a little 'tit' on the switch-make sure this lines up with the hose connector. One last thing..notice on the new switch the 'relaxed' position of the check ball..notice if the old/removed one, the check ball is 'froze'-in the 'up' position..the is generally a huge clue you're on the right track..Good luck...Jerry

I will "lie" to him and say 1 of my Forum buddies mailed a "spare" 1 they just had sitting around their garage lol!!! He is a very proud man and would never accept it if he knew I actually bought it for him... He is already throwing a fit over the stupid $15 dollar switch I already bought
I just have a favorite wrench I always grab when doing this job and it happens to be a 25/32nds..When you get the switch, size it up with whatever size open end you have. The old one in the vehicle should be the same size..Good luck!
I am happy too report back with success!!! It was the transfer case switch that was the problem all along... Thanks too all who tried too help out and a shout out too perumotors1369 for walking me through the repair
