4.3 starting problems
Hello everybody! Long time lurker first time posting. I recently got my grandpa's 99 blazer 4x4 automatic. it had a bad transmission. Replaced it with a used tranny with a 1 year warranty. It drove good for a week. Headed to work one morning didn't make it 2 miles and it started sputtering like it was out of fuel and cut off. Not sure if it was really out of gas or not. It was on a 1/4 tank. Put 2, 5 gal jugs of fuel in it and would not start. Had a friend tow it home. First thought was fuel pump. Check pressure from the schrader valve on the motor. Read 62 psi with key on and held for over 10 mins. Does that prove the fuel regulator is working? Poured a little fuel down the throttle body and it ran for a few seconds. So I pulled the plenum and watched the spider spray fuel. They all had split streams not a fine mist like would imagine. Is that normal? Enough to make it not run? Have no way to check codes at the moment. Has good spark and plugs. Not sure what's going on here thanks for reading this long post. Josh

Welcome to the Forum... I wonder if your fuel injectors might be clogged up? Maybe try pouring a bottle or 2 of SeaFoam fuel treatment in the tank and see if that helps. It would be a cheap start too fixing the problem if that is all it is... I swear by the stuff but not saying that will fix it, just a possibility...
Strange case. I'd say same - the fuel pump (because it runs on a fuel through throttle). But as far as You've measured the pressure... Fuel pressure regulator is a mechanical device built into a spider assembly. So, the pressure You read is an input pressure to the spider (not related).
Check for a 1" spark.
Check for a 1" spark.
Thank you for all the responses. I got it running. I must have put some e85 or diesel in it on accident. Siphoned some out to check for water and noticed it had a slight green color and smelled off. Drained it put gas in it. It fired up
