Default 4WD Console Indicator won't illuminate!

1995 GMC Jimmy vortec V-6

Hey guys,

1st of all, after looking at the transfer case shifter kits, both the home-made one shown on this forum and the one made by Posi-lock for $180.00 , don't you think there is a market for a kit to be a little more functional and easier to install than the one sold for $180 that looks like it costs a total of $50.00 ???

Second, I'm now having an issue with my 4wd indicator light. My 4wd is a floor shift with an indicator light that shows 2wd, 4wd HI, N, and 4 LO, and next to it is a diagram of the front diff that lights up when it engages. Well the diagram (of the front diff) doesn't light up anymore. I checked for power down by the 4WD indicator switch by the cable that goes into the front diff. and I have no power there. But I'm not sure if it's supposed to have power there or if it just completes a ground loop. Inside, on the indicator I only have one source of power lead coming into the circuit board, and all other lites illuminate but that light for the front diff. diagram.

Does anyone know where to start to test for power?? I moved a bulb from one place to another and it worked, so I know it's not the bulb
