4x4
hello i have a 2000 zr2 and today it snowed and thought my 4x4 can take care of it . well i cant get it to go into 4x4 on hi or lo. i was stoped pressed the 4x4 it flashed and i could hear it click over but it keep on flashing. i movd and i could tell the front tires wernt spinning. so do u have to be moving to shift into 4hi? and what do you have 2 do to go into 4 lo? i read the man but it doesnt help very much. so any info on this can help me thanks
To get into 4Hi you can be moving slowly, me go about 5mph or less. To get into 4Lo you have to be in neutral and stopped. If it is not engaging now then you may have a vacuum leak or the encoder motor is not working.
There should be a vacuum tank under the battery tran and lines going to it, also there is a vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case on the drivers side that supplies the vacuum to the 4x4 actuator under the battery, also check the vacuum actuator to see of it holds a vacuum, if not then that is your answer. Make sure all the lines going into the tank are good.
