4x4 slipping/hopping
I posted this in the General Chat and a member recommended adding it here as well.
I was not able to utilize my 4x4 until today. After reading some of the posts on here I located the vacuum line and it was not connected. I had the blinking light originally and now when I push the 4 hi or 4 lo it engages. Problem now is when i go to turn around or even take a turn very slow it is hopping/slipping. It seems to be fine going straight just when reversing or turning very slowly does it do this. My blazer is a 2000 4.3L. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am brand new to this forum and am very thankful to this group for the help thus far.

RE: 4x4 slipping/hopping
Was that on dry pavement? If so, that is a Major no-no. Engaging four wheel drive locks the front and rear drivelines together. all the wheels move at the same speed. In a straight line, that is all well and good, when you turn, on the other hand...... all the wheels travel a different distance, but, they are all locked together, so, something has to give. Generally, this will be felt as a "skipping" sensation. Alternatively, if traction is too high (dry pavement....) things break. 4wd is for use ONLY in low traction situations. Wet roads are a marginal case, icy roads, yep, 4wd is best, same for snow. Off road, or dirt roads are ok as well. But, never, ever on dry pavement.
