I was not able to utilize my 4x4 until today. After reading some of the posts on here I located the vacuum line and it was not connected. I had the blinking light originally and now when I push the 4 hi or 4 lo it engages. Problem now is when i go to turn around or even take a turn very slow it is hopping/slipping. It seems to be fine going straight just when reversing or turning very slowly does it do this. My blazer is a 2000 4.3L. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am brand new to this forum and am very thankful to this group for the help thus far.

You would get a lot more help if this was posted in the General Tech help section...
Some people that go there who know what they are doing, sometimes dont follow these general chat topics.
But Welcome to the forum!!!
and hope you get your anwsers!

There will be a certain (small amount) of binding while turning slowly, especially in a tight circle or while parking. This is normal. As far as hopping/slipping in reverse, I'm not sure what the culprit could be.
Glad you found some info about the vacuum lines. Are you sure it's the transmission that's slipping? What do the RPM's look like when this is happening?

Thanks I moved this tcopied this post to the General Tech forum as well. As far as the RPM's none really I am barely moving when this is happening. It really feels more like a hop than a slip as strange as that sounds.

Was that on dry pavement? If so, that is a Major no-no. Engaging four wheel drive locks the front and rear drivelines together. all the wheels move at the same speed. In a straight line, that is all well and good, when you turn, on the other hand...... all the wheels travel a different distance, but, they are all locked together, so, something has to give. Generally, this will be felt as a "skipping" sensation. Alternatively, if traction is too high (dry pavement....) things break. 4wd is for use ONLY in low traction situations. Wet roads are a marginal case, icy roads, yep, 4wd is best, same for snow. Off road, or dirt roads are ok as well. But, never, ever on dry pavement.

It sounds almost like the transfer case is still engaged. Check the transfer case fluid. If it hasn't been changed for a while, change it and make sure you use the autotrak 2 fluid which is blue in colour.
The owners' manual indicated the wrong fluid as the updated fluid came out after the manual was printed.
