95 Blazer RPMs

95 Blazer RPMs
I just bought a 95 Blazer and I have noticed that on the highway going about 105kilometers per hour it revs at about 2400 to 2500. Is this normal for a blazer? I just havent owned a vehicle that runs over 2000 at that speed so maybe I am just being paranoid. Thanks.

It really depends on the gears you have in the diffs. 3.73:1 should be around 2000RPM locked into 4th (over drive) at 65mph (105km/hr). 4.10's would be ~2200RPM. Both with 235/75R15 tires on which were the most common tires used.
You could be having a problem with the torque converter lockup. Try this. Next time you are cruising down the road, lightly push on the brake pedal just enough to illuminate the brake lights, but not enough to slow you down. Watch the tachometer. If the RPM's don't increase, then the torque converter is not locked in.

well i tried to do what you said and the RPMs definately never went up so does this mean my torque converter is not working? I didnt realize it would do that in the first place but you know more then me most likely ha.
