95 blazer vacuum line mess
Since replacing an open vacuum line to the transfer case switch, then replacing the switch because no vacuum coming out, I've discovered the vacuum is sucking all of the trans fluid out and into the intake manifold. (Smoking exhaust like it's on fire!) Rather than replacing the input shaft seal, I've disconnected the vacuum for the switch and the transfer case vent, and left them open to air. Is there any harm in this? I can live without 4wd for now. And do you concur that it is most likely an input shaft seal and how can I prove that?
I believe you may find that diagram if you look back at previous posts. There are several .pdf drawings of vac system.
Thank You everyone who posted the information with the vacuum diagrams, that was exactly what I needed to get the 4 wheel drive operational again for my buddy's rig, he had bought it and whoever owned it before obviously was in a accident and the the person who did the repairs to the rig should be banned from ever touching another car again....unbelievable the quality of the work they did......found the vacuum lines all cut and either hidden out of sight or plugged and....thanks everyone 4x4 is working once again in time for the winter season here in Washington State.....
