95 engine won't run and turns over rough.
Hi. I have a 1995 Blazer and a while ago the truck died while driving it. It started to run rough then quit. I figured fuel pump again so this time I changed tank, pump and sending unit. Not the problem. It turned over like it was out of time. I changed the timing chain even though it still was usable. Tried another computer, no good. I did notice metal filings in the oil cooler screen in the rad. I suspect I might have thrown a bearing. Compression on 4 of the cylinders is 113, one at 117 and one at 120. It will eventually start but shakes violently then stops abruptly. Any ideas or am I heading in the right direction with the spun bearing?
Can I use another year 4.3 if I put my CPI intake on said motor or do I have to have a 95 specifically? Have heard many different views between wrecking yards and parts stores. Mine is a W motor with spark plug wires coming out the side of the distributor cap. Thanks. Carl.
