95 S10 Blazer won't start without starting fluid

Need to diagnose it first, don't jump to conclussions.
Fuel delivery on these engines is critical, and there are several weak points, so the first step is to check fuel pressure and leakdown. Key ON, engine OFF, fuel pump running, pressure must be 55psi to 61psi and must remain above 50psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off. The results of these tests will tell if the fuel delivery system is working properly. If it passes both tests, we move on. If it fails one or both tests, then we do more testing to figure out where the problem is.

Nothing is as simple when doing it for the first time--It is very doable. Start by taking off the spare tire under the blazer and you will have better access to the fuel line. This is where you have to be very careful and patient (did I just write being patient?). The fuel lines are pushed and snapped onto the pump. All three have a plastic snap clip. You must press on the very front part of the lines where the plastic clip is and pull the line off. You can use small plier to press down on the clip as you pull the line. If you can't see what the snap clip looks like, maybe a visit to the parts store will help. Ask for a fuel pump line and if it's in stock, just look at it to get familiar with it (don't buy it if you don't need it). If you have a repair manual with pictures or have a library card like I have, you can go online and see the repair instructions. I'm in Bridgeport, Connecticut and the best thing about my library is the online research section where I get to look up any auto repair manual for free.

If anyone needs repair instructions for blazers. I may be able to e-mail you repair instructions or system info from my library source. Their system won't allow me to send links but, I can send a section by e-mail.
I've come across some very interesting information on the blazer fuel injection system which gave me tips on where and what to look for.

Other than that, online is great.
