Default 96 blazer 4x4 Won't Start

Hello and ty my 96 blazer for a while I had to jerk the shifter up hard to get it to start now that does not work anymore get all power with key on just won't start please help.

So, it doesn't even crank, right? And before you had to yank on the shift lever to start it?

Try starting it in neutral. If that works, you need to replace the shift cable. Same thing happened on my 95. Park wasn't park, it was some strange neutral that wouldn't crank, and wouldn't keep it from rolling lol.

Shift cable replacement is fairly easy, just kinda a pain

Great advice, I also believe it is your shift cable. I have no first hand knowledge of the problem but that would be my first guess...

Yea tried putting it in neutral won't do anything someone suggested it might be neutral bypass switch
