So I have a 97 blazer 4x4 and i was driving down the road and started smelling rubber. I pulled over and looked under the truck and a rubber hose goin to the top of the transfer case from the front of the truck ( that was leaking fluid) was melting to the catalytic converter. I went to the autoparts store, bought a connector, and got it fixed, i just dont know what the hose goes to. Please help me understand whats it is. Thanks

 

Aren't there some vacuum lines that go to the tcase?

 

i think so. Only line i can visibly see is the one i had to fix

 

It might be the breather line

 

None of the lines coming off the transfer case should have fluid in them. Check the fluid level in the transfer case if it's overfull you have a transfer case front seal leaking letting transmission fluid in...
