Blazer had been in storage for over a year and wouldn't start.
Took a micro squirt of ether to get it to run.
Fuel pressure < 50. Changed fuel filter and it started.
Drove 1k miles in three days.
First tank high test with Lucas fuel treatment, 2nd tank mid test with Lucas, 3rd tank reg with Textron. Ran and started great.
Sat in Houston heat for three days and wouldn't start without ether. After it started it ran fine and started on its own all day.
Should I replace the fuel pump? Has 56k miles.

You did everything right. But your fuel pressure is low,put a new pump in it. Be very careful when you drop the tank to avoid snapping those plastic vent fittings and inspect the condition of the rubber lines as well. With only 56k this is a unit worth keeping if otherwise its in nice shape!

No reason or anything worthwhile putting higher octane than 89 in the tank. The higher octane does nothing for this engine. Now the fuel injection cleaner additives are worthwhile, but not the more expensive fuel.
And yes time to replace the fuel pump....really surprised that the engine will run with that low of pressure. And of course try to run the tank close to empty before dropping it.

Hi guys, I haven't been on here in a while. Reading this post pretty much summed up my issue, but I've changed my fuel pump and have had the same issue return. I've read somewhere a while ago in another post that due to the high pressure required, a specific fuel pump should be used, instead of an after market model. Can anyone point to a fuel pump that will get that high pressure for sure ? If I go to the Dealership and order a GM pump I should be good right ?
Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread hehe

No reason to go to stealership to order the correct Delco fuel pump....get the same item for less by ordering off internet. Try Rockauto or google search for gm parts and shop around. Just ensure that that you get a Delco pump...nothing else will last.
