Default Wouldn't start...then it did...confused

So yesterday my Blazer wouldn't start after driving to base.

It turned over, just wouldn't start. I tried about a dozen times.

I got a ride home and came back this morning full of anger that I might have to buy a new fuel pump, or track down a gremlin in the electrical system. It fired up the first time. I heard the fuel pump...pumping.

It fired up three more times without the slightest indication that anything was ever wrong...

I am officially confused.

I don't even know where to begin my search for the "problem"

What are you working on?

It is possible that the ignition switch is starting to fail. It would give other symptoms as well depending on the year of your vehicle.
