Default 97 blazer power window problem

My drivers side power window has been giving me problems for years. Not working, then working etc. Well, it is now stuck open. I took the door panel off and tried to force it up, nothing. I ran some jumper cables from the battery and tried to jump the window motor, the window moved up 2 inches and then nothing. How the heck can I get the window up by myself and have it professionally fixed later??? Thank you in advance.

George

i had a similar problem. Did you check the bolts holding the motor to the regulator? Mine came loose so any pressure on the glass and it would sorta pop out of gear and it would take messin with the door to get it to work again.

I will have to check that out but I banged on just about everything and nothing worked. When I push the up/down button the lights don't even dim in the car so I'm thinking there isn't any power going into the motor.
