Default 97 Blazer Tranny Slipping and ABS problems..

I have a 97 4dr 4wd chevy blazer. recently we've been having problems with the transmission and abs issues. after driving more than about 10 mins, the blazer starts staying in the same gear and revs very high but doesn't happen all the time. also my abs light turns on about the same time, and it turns the abs on at every stop. im not sure it the two could be connected or not, and hope someone can give some guidance. thanks in advance!

The two problems could very well be related. Both ABS and the transmission use data from the VSS, (Vehicle Speed Sensor). Is the Service Engine Soon light, and or amber ABS light illuminated when the problem occurs? If so, have the codes retrieved and post them here, we'll help you with diagnosis and repair.

Hey sorry for the late response. We just checked the codes today with my dad's tester and the only thing that showed up was an O2 sensor problem. Also it wasn't able to communicate with the ABS. Am I doing something wrong, or where else can I get the codes? Thanks.

Powertrian DTC's have 5 characters and start with "P".
ABS DTC's also have 5 characters and they start with "C".
It requires an ABS capable scan tool to retrieve the DTC's.
Some, not all, auto parts stores have them, you'll need to check around locally.
