Burnout66 is on a distinguished road

I would have never guessed that... Happy to hear you found it though!

The fuel pressure regulator is accessible if you take off the upper intake. It is a good 8? bolts and they are easy to get to. If you really think that is the problem, it should take you a good hour tops to get it done if you have a clue of what your doing.

Maybe try looking up "how to change fuel pressure regulator 97 blazer" in the search bar... Im sure you'll find a step by step somewhere on this site. Use your resources or do it yourself and learn, either way its not a bad job to do. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the regulator tip burnout66, I'll keep that in mind. I must say that I did see a leak on the fuel filler neck; when the tow truck hauled the blazer on his platform and that the front of the truck was up in the air, gas was leaking out. Today I took out this filler neck and the vent pipe part of it was rotten and open. I will as well look for a charcoal canister for I believe it has never been changed (192,000 miles ) !
I was so close to taking the blazer to a scap yard but I decided I'll hold on to it, thanks to blazerforum.com and the help of its members.
