Default 97 dropgate won't open

I am buying a 1997 Blazer that the dropgate makes some noise when you push the button on the gate itself. The lady that had it said that it made a weird noise once and stopped working. I was told it may be the selonoid for the lock or the accuatuer of the locking mechanism or something. I havent gotten it yet and until I buy it I will not be messing with it just yet.

I know forums are a great place for help and I am a new user on here and I know that you all have heard or know how to fix it!!! I will be updating my profile on here and looking forward to learning about the blazer through you all.

If the glass on the tailgate does not open when you push the button, but you can hear the actuator making a noise, then click this link and read through the thread and you will see what needs to be done to repair it.

What if you don't hear anything, and it won't open with the button or the key?
