Default 97 GMC Jimmy Bad Water Pump = Spun Bearing?

Bought a clean 97 Jimmy the other day with the awd set up. It had what sounded like a rod knock so I got it for cheap. Ended up putting a water pump in cause it was leaking out the weap hole. But surprise surprise the knock is still here lol. Has anyone ever changed rod and crank bearings on this truck with the motor still in it?

Honestly, it would probably be easier just to throw a used motor in it.

If you can hear a bearing knock, you will need a lot more repairs than can be done in the vehicle. Sorry!
