First off i have a 97 Jimmy, that i would not trade for nothing. The problem started awhile back. The rear split tailgate button does not work, my dash button for glass & keypad work fine. Also had a problem around the same time with my door handles, u know the saftey feature when u lift up on handle to make sure no one is in your vehicle. It would stay on, eventually kill my battery. So we disconnected my connectors for this feature, to save my battery. Well both disconnected, i can go lift up on drivers side still kicks light on, but not the pass side. Are the two related, any help appreciated. Thanks

 

Sounds like a defective latch sensor. It turns on the dome light even when the door is closed. If the latch sensor is defective, the dome (courtesy lights?) will stay on.
