Default 97 Will not start

I have a 97 S10 Blazer that is dead and will not start. Problem happened suddenly, it started OK and when going how it didn't start. Had to tow it back.

I have checked the ignition and it didn't give a spark. I changed the Ignition module and the Coil. But it still wouldn't start. It cranks and you get a smell of fuel. At the schrader I have gas and it is under pressure. I can hear the fuelpump running when ignition is turned on.

I have no codes on the ODBC reader.

I am lost...

What can be wrong and what should I check next?

Thanks

What is the fuel pressure?...you need a certain amount to start.
Do you have spark at the coil wire before the distributor cap?
Do the fuses check out OK?

Edit: this is all assuming that you crank but don't fire?

Yes it cranks but will not fire.

I haven't measured the fuel pressure. But squezes with force when I press the schrader valve. I know that doesn't mean that the pressure is OK.

I have checked the spark with a Strobelight and it will not light up. No other checks on spark but I assume that this shows that it has no spark.

I can check more about the spark on friday. Iäll have to go on a trip tomorrow and will be back late.

When ignition is turned on the fuelpump runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, that is normal. When cranking it smells a lot of fuel so I assume that it will get fuel properly.

Wow there's a bunch of stuff too check depending on how fast you need the vehicle.

Out of the woods and need it fast that its a 97, I would try to get an ignition switch.

Jan, have no idea if you have any Junkers around but in todays market world one in a couple of days would not be unreasonable.
