i cant seem to locate the expansion valve i have no idea where exactly is it located at
any help please thanks in advance

 

The expansion (orifice) tube is located in the evaporator inlet pipe. No picture location is provided by manufacturer. This is taken right from my AllData. The best way to find it is to follow the smaller diameter pipe coming from the heater/ a/c case, and look for a slight crimp in that tube near a connection, that will be where the orifice tube is. But what problem are you actually having with your air??

 

i bought new parts pretty much the a.c system evap condessor and so on i had it installed but they forgot to put the expansion valve in it we have no clue what else could be wrong with it hot air still blows out we had a leak check on it nothing came up freon seems to be drain rather quickly i know its alot im confused myself on this

Without an orifice tube the system will not work properly for sure.
Exp. valves are different, but do the same thing, which I won't bother
getting into.

Location:

Expansion pipe (upside down U shape, below/attached to the
accumulator) at the connection to the firewall pipe leading to the
evap inside. If by some chance it's not there (hehe, well obviously it
isn't right now), then it will be at the other end connecting to the
condenser. As mentioned before, there will be dimpling or some kind of
bottlenecking to hold it in place. Make SURE you put it in with the
correct orientation or it won't do what it's supposed to do. It should
fit in better/feel right one way vs. the other. Good luck.

The orifice tube is under the expansion valve, there is a line that runs right into that big black platic box where the blower is on the left hand side if you are facing thewindshield from the front of thevehicle,you have to loosen the big brass line nut and pull the line off. You can't see in there because of the angle, but you can feel around in there with some needle nose pliers and grab the flat tab used to pull out the orifice tube, mine was pretty clean, just took an air hose to it to get off a little of what was on there and put it back in.
