Default 98 blazer electrical prob.

i have a 98 blazer with a bit of an electrical problem. We located the problem under ther hood with the 50A fuse for int batt so we checked in the cab and found out its coming from the fuse rdo batt. if anyone has had this problem or knows why this may be let me know. this problem is drawing to much current and draining my battery. need help thanks.

If your parasitic draw stops when you pull the RDO 15 amp fuse, put the fuse back in and try disconnecting the connector at the back of the radio and see if the draw stops. What does parasitic draw indicate? I think max allowable is 1200ma.

IIRC, the overall current draw shouldn't be higher than 50mA once everything goes to sleep. The initial current draw upon reconnecting the battery could exceed 1A as CH mentioned, but it should quickly drop to around 500mA. After 5-10 minutes, it should be at its lowest power state which should be around 50mA (again, if I remember correctly).
