Default 98 blazer issues HELP!!!!

Ok so my blazer (98 4.3L 4 wheel drive) Had a issue where the tach was jumping around while driving, now it started driving weird too, anyway got a code for the cam pos sensor. I marked each plug wire at the cap as per the number on the cap before removing them. removed the cap and rotor. Then noticed um ok a metal disc around the shaft of the distr. is blocking the cam sensor from comming out so i then realized a notch in that disc to line up to the sensor so it can slide out and turned the crank to get the notch of the disc to the sensor, fine and dandy its out now. Installed the new sensor, I even turned the crank toget the disc back to where it was before putting the cap and all back on,put everything back together and WTF wont start and the famous 1351 code is showing for ignition issue, im thinking its off timing but HOWWWWWW? It wont even start up withstarting fluid lol.the rotor goes on only one way and how could the timing be messed up by simply moving the darn crank to position the disc to getwhere it had to be to get the sensor out. I didnt even touch the distrib hold down or move it in the least as i didnt have to to get the sensor out of course. Let me know all that could be PLEASE, its driving me nuts. You would think it dont matter that i moved the crank to move the dsic notch to meet up with the sensor to get it out. Long as distrib wasnt removed how the heck dont this work out? couple friends said it is 180 out? seems it possibly but HOW???? Afterall i even took no 1 plug outwith the rotor facing it and it was at no.1 plug when i heard no .1 come up with the plug out.

Rotating the engine over has nothing to do with it. You never removed the distributor itself so you never changed the base timing.

I would double check your wire locations. The top of the distributor cap should already have the cylinder numbers on it and if you wrote the wire numbers on the wire ends, you should have gotten them back on appropriately. Just check it again, but follow each wire from the spark plug, up to the distributor.

Also, make sure that the wires are all fully seated on the "towers" of the distributor cap. I have seen where trapped air inside the wire boot can cause the wire to disengage from the "tower", loosing connection.

I have posted the book explanation of the code you are getting in the DIY section, P1351 Explained, which may help.

Exactly what i figured how the heck could the timing be off without messing with the distrib. I have checked everything, plug wires and such. I amlost on this damn thing lol. When this ignition open code first came up 2 weeks ago i looked into everything ignition and it checked out fine, had spark and all so i went after a crank sensor and good to go, yesterday got this cam sensor code replaced it and now getting the ignition code (1351 again lol) So something is messed up with soemthing i did yesterday but idk what and i have spark lol.

Sounds like a wiring problem from reading the book description of the code. Not a fun thing to trace down.
