98 Blazer lights stay on
I really hope that someone can help me? When, I turn my blazer off...The headlights, dash and tail lights stay on all the time (it's like I never turned it off). I have to disconnect the battery just to keep it from dieing. I believe that its has to be electrical or maybe some type of switch. But, I'm not sure. I appreciate any help.
Does your headlight switch work when your blazer is running? If not, you should check it. My blazer has automatic headlights, so I don't need to use the switch, but if I turn it on and turn my car off the lights will stay on. After a while they turn off by themselves, though. If yours are working fine but they stay on no matter what, you might have a short somewhere along your electrical circuit (two exposed wires touching each other somewhere).
Thank you, hyperlite_rider! My blazer does have automatic headlights also. The other day a friend of mine came over in the afternoon and he pulled the DRL Fuse under the hood which made everything turn off and he told me and showed me that if I wanted my headlights to come on I would have to use the switch (it worked fine) until it got dark outside then the headlights came back on again and would turn off until I disconnected the battery. I called my friend and he believes that it has something to do with the sensor or maybe a relay switch. What do you think?
I have DRL as well. If you push the dome over ride button 3 times (I think) within 6 seconds, the lights will go out (unless you have the switch in the "on" possition). Then you will have to use the headlight **** to turn on/off your lights. Repeat the process to turn the automatic lights on again. The sucky thing is, once you turn the blazer off and then turn it back on later, the lights will default back to coming back on when it gets dark outside.
