Default 98 Blazer Vibrates After Replacing Sway Bar Bushings

Hello All

My 1998 4WD 4dr Blazer recently needed me to replace the sway bar links.

After I replaced them , I was driving home and the truck started to vibrate.

I pulled over and everything looked OK. Is there a method on tightening

them?

Sway bar links help reduce body roll on turns and can not cause a vibration. The bolts need to be torqued to 11 foot pounds.

What speed do you first start to notice the vibration? What speed is it most noticeable? Does it get worse or better if you increase speed?

The vibration that you feel is your new found connection with the road you are driving on. Enjoy your better responce to steering input and increased roll resistace. Happy Christmas!

It starts at about 10-15mph.

Definitely not related to the sway bar.

Does it get worse or better if you increase speed?

Do you feel it, or hear it?

Could be a broken belt in a tire. Raise each tire off the ground and rotate it by hand while watching the tread. It should not waver inboard and outboard.

Cant hear it. It starts at about 10-15mph. I can let go of the steering and it moves back and forth. When I am driving at 30-40mph, I can turn the steering slightly to the left and the wobble goes away for a second.

Classic symptom of a broken belt in a tire. If the vehicle moves back and forth, my guess is a front one. Might even be a bent wheel, but it sure sounds like a tire is not tracking true.
