Default 98 power mirror

Hey just got my 98 Blazedogg for my daily driver. its a LS 4dr 4x4 with Alomst 100k. Well my Power mirrors stopped working and I read that there was a recall on the switch and they install a fused link inline also because from what it sounds like the switch has a tendency to go bad and short out and cause melt downs in the harness. Just wondering what the fix is exactly and if anyone here has experienced anything more major than just the switch going bad. anyone?

if its a recall then it would be a free fix, why not call the nearest Chevy dealer and ask about it first?

Not necessarily Dory. Safety recalls are always a free fix, but general recalls are only at the dealerships discretion and if done once for free, typically, the next time you pay... General recalls are just a smidge higher than technical service bulletins. Both serve as a starting point for common problems that a mechanic can check for first.
