99 4.3 slight intermediate skip/miss

If the P1345 is being set, the distributor is not installed correctly, (that's what the DTC means). The rotor needs to point closer to the 6 than it is. It's probably only off by one tooth. The crankshaft MUST be lined up as indicated in the post above. Only turn the crankshaft clockwise. If there is any slack in the timing chain, turning the crank counter clockwise, (even a little bit) will not position the camshaft correctly.

The flat part of the distributor housing needs to be facing the front of the engine, and it should be parallel with the rear of the engine. If that's the case, the distributor needs to be removed, and the rotor needs to be turned clockwise one tooth, and reinstalled.
