Default 99 4x4 awd transfer case in a 96 4x4 with hi/low

Hi I have a 96 4x4 blazer it needs a transfer case and trans I have a newer 99 blazer with the all wheel drive option with a blown engine. On the 4wd switch I was wondering if the transfer case and trans will be compatible or if I have to bypass the awd Wireing. Or would I be farther ahead just swapping the motors. Thank you

I would say you would be further ahead to swap motors.
