I push 4 hi and it does not engage it just flashes. I push 4 low and hear the clunk of the low gear change in the transmission and it still flashes. The front differential never engages. I pulled the battery and check the actuator and cannot pull the hose to check it. The cable moves about 1/2" and returns. I tried to pull the hose at the solenoid on the firewall behind the engine and the connection broke. 1 How can I remove the solenoid? Where can I get one?
2 what else might cause the transfer case not to engage and hoe do I find if?

Sounds like a vacuum actuator problem. Pull the battery and battery tray to see the actuator.
