Default 99 Trans question

I have a 99 blazer 4wd 4d. I am going to attempt to remove the trans pan to get to the seloniods and the tcc plunger. after just looking under the truck, I can see all the bolts in the pan. Some look like they will not be able to get to. Also is there any other parts that need to come off. I can see what I think is the shifter cable and it looks like it is under one or two of the pan bolts. I am afraid to remove that because I dont know how hard it will be to re attatch. Can I please get some advise on this it would be appriciated. This will be a first time for me tackling such a big project and I need all the help I can get Thanks in advance guys.

I think you have to raise the tranny a little to get it to clear the cross member.

i have changed the tranny oil and filter on a 97 and you just take all the bolts out of the pan and its a done deal. really straight forward. dont worry about the shifter just unbolt and lay aside. just be jentle when taking the pan off you dont damage the shift solenoids. raise the tranny a bit it might help. oh if you decide to change the filter to, then leave the seal in the valve body alone. dont attempt to even take it out. its a nightmare and you coulkd damage the valve body trying to take it out. just simply put the new filter in.without the new seal of course. it will seal just fine with the old seal. this only applies to the metal seals with a rubber inner seal. if its the hard plastic ones just yank it out.
