I have a '98 four door chevy blazer. Lately, my abs comes on by itself while I'm driving for now reason. It is really bad when I try to stop or slow down.I will start to slow down and then the abs brakes will kick in andI losecomplete control over my brakes. My work replaced my abs module and my wheel sensors, but the abs still comes on when its not suppose to. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with the abs system or at least have a similiar problem? Thanks.

 

I'm not 100% familiar with the blazers yet.. but a friend had a 2000 grand am with similar issues the abs decided when it wanted to kick in.. I luck out when I was looking underthe car and found a wiring haness that had rubbed though on the control arm... patched it up and was good to go.. I also had an issue with the abs light coming on randomly.. tho it wouldnt engage the abs on a 95 cavalier... that one happened to be a wheel bearing.. the sensor wasnt getting a proper reading from the reluctor ring... in my case it shut it off.. that being said ... again I'm not 100% on blazers operation.. but in theory if it senses one wheel going slower than the rest while braking it will pulsate the brakes.... when they replaced the sensors did they happen to notice if all the teeth on the ring were still there... next thing I would do .. is ring the sensor wires to ground and make sure nothing is shorted.... next Iwould pray for someone with a better understanding of the balzer abs system:-) good luck and please postwhat you find:-)
