Default ABS cutting in at low speed

Hi, my ABS sometimes cuts in just as i'm coming to a stop even though the wheels are not locking. I am pretty sure this is due to an excessive gap between the sensor & the toothed wheel on the hub (due to corrosion under the sensor mounting) as I have had the same problem on another vehicle I have owned. My question is - to stop it happening in the meantime, can I temporarily remove either the ABS fuse in the passenger or engine compartment fusebox until I can get round to removing the sensors & cleaning up the mounting surfaces in a couple weeks time when I have some time off work? Will I do any damage to anything by doing this? I am assuming the ABS warning light will come on to tell me that the system is disabled but the conventional braking system should remain operational?

No damage, but the light will be on.
