Default AC Compressor?

Yes, I did try the search and it came up with "sorry-no results" and i tried it twice simply typing ac. So my AC works in town, but doesn't work on the highway. I think its RPM related. I have a bad leak somewhere seeing as how I recharged the system last summer and this summer it was completely drained. Is it a leak issue or a compressor issue? I'm thinking maybe the compressor clutch is bad. I was gonna take it to a place in town that will suck out the old stuff and put in fresh to see if that helped and to look for a leak. Would it be worth $80? Opinions and price to fix please.
Thanks in advance

You have a leak you need to find, a shop can do it with a UV dye or you can buy a kit and do it yourself. Thats really the only way of finding out where the leak is.

Would a big leak cause all the problems?
