is the a/c compressor supposed to kick on and off every few seconds? mine is clicking on steady. about every 10 seconds I can hear it click on then off while it idles. and the idle gets rough when it does this also, anyone know what the problem could be?

Sounds like it is low on freon. Depending on the year of the vehicle, you may be able to get a re-charge kit at Walmart and add some yourself.

94 models and later most likely have R134, which is sold at Wal-Mart. If you are having cooler weather right now, that will also make the compressor cycle more frequently as the cabin temp is already cool.
