My airbag light is on and off occasionally, what does this mean?

 

It means that the SIR system (airbag system) has detected a fault in the system. You really should have the SIR system scanned to see what the code is. Be forewarned though, the typical OBD2 scanner will not be able to access the SIR system. A dealer Tech 2 or other similar enhanced scan tool will be required to access the SIR control module to retrieve the codes. Without retrieving the codes, you will just be guessing. That can get expensive quick.
