Air Bag light?
#1
So it's one of those thangs.. it dosen't really do anything just a little concerning if i get into an accident or something. So it's been going on for a little over a year now, my Air bag light likes to turn it's self on and turn it's self off, no exact intervals currently, just at random.
The truck has 106k miles on it,
it's a 97 s10 4.3
The last 4l60e's overdrive went out on i95 due to a bad wire
bad wire = analysis said, tranny temp was -2 degrees F, we were going 3k mph sitting still, oil temp was roughley 20 degrees F
We've replaced the stock stereo with an alpine head unit
http://alpine-usa.com/product/view/ida-x303
First Tranny Cruise Control went out
Horn Does work, well as i enjoy playing with it
We've had problems with the dome light in the past, but thats resolved
Sorry for the long post, but i'm trying to list anything electrical we've done or has happened to get this figured out
*edit* rest of the stereo and such are in my sig

you need to get your hands on a full feature scan tool so you can get the code for the airbag light. Even if it is not on, there should be a history code stored. The light means the truck is almost telling you what is wrong.

Also, just because the air bag light is on DOES NOT mean it will not go off in an accident. It may go off, it may not. It depends on the fault.

be sure to check you connections...battery disconnected of course...my light going on and off wound up being a loose connector behind glove box...simple fix. i believe all the connection under dash have bright yellow connectors, makes them easy to find.
