Question Air bag light on dashboard and...

HI everybody,

I have two things going on....on my
1998 Chevy Blazer just under 80, 000 miles

1. my left directional blinks in double time. It started a few months ago. The right one blinks at the normal speed.

2. my air bag light on the dashboard came on....stayed on for 3 minutes and went off. This has happened a few times over the past 2 weeks. Most of the time it goes off almost immediately but not like the usual flash of it when the engine is coming on. It might stay on until I get out of the parking lot, which takes all of 30 seconds.

Are either of these things something my mechanic should check?

Thanks so much,
Anna

As far as the blinker light goes one of your lights are out. Turn the left blinker on and look at the tail light and see if its flashing if it is check the front one. witch ever is not blinking that bulb needs replacing. I think the bulb size is 3057. As far as air bag light goes you got me.

I had an air bag and anti loc light that was comming on and off, then one day it decided not to start, it wouldn't even turn over. I replaced the Ignition switch, and all was good. From what I've read here, the ignition switches have a tendencey to go out on these rigs. Another thing that will cause goofy intermittent light issues is low Batt. voltage. Have the parts house check your Batt. first, the Ignition switch isn't cheap. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your replies. My lights are OK, any other ideas?

I will definitely get the ignition switch checked. I did have a new battery put in 3 months ago so that should be OK or could the voltage still be low?

Thanks again,
Anna

bksowers1: you were right...there was a bulb out in the tail light...didn't know there are more then one in each tail light...although they looked like they were flashing the same.

What's good is....I think replacing the bulb fixed the airbag light that was flashing on the dashboard. It hasn't done it since. Are they connected somehow?
