Airbag light never comes on?

That would do it! Pin #7 at the SIR module is probably vacant with your new harness too. Without ground from the SIR module, the LED will not illuminate 
Should be pretty simple to add the circuit. Take the brown wire, (and connectors) out of the old harness, install it in the vehicle, and you're in business.
If/when the LED comes on, it's telling you the SIR system has a problem. Depending on the problem, the bags may or may not deploy, but without the LED, you won't know if there's a problem.
