any advice?
Hi everyone,
I'm new here and wanted to know if anybody had any advice on a prob that I'm having....just bought a 2004 blazer and I love it...as silly as it sounds, my stereo works while the truck is running or when I have the key turned over far enough that the dash lights up....when I turn the key to the accessory spot on the steering column, the radio will not turn on...yes, I'm blonde, but I know that in any other vehicle that I have owned, you could listen to the radio when you put the key into the ignition and turned it one slot forward or one slot backward...is this normal or should I have it serviced?
Thanks!

i got a '00 LS, and my radio/cd stays on even when my key is pulled out. it turns off after i open the door to get out. i likey that feature very much. i however bought it used (2 days ago), so i dont know if the previous owner mesed with it or not.

That's common..I've seen that in a lot of newer cars....but as for the original issue posted...I've never heard of that.

Unless they changed something, you should be able to turn your key backwards to make your radio come on. Used to be used for drive in movies, parking the truck and cranking the music while tailgaiting, or hanging out at the park, etc. IT should go back one click. I know my '00 goes backwards. It should also be timed, and should turn off after 20 minutes. Its the battery run down safety feature.

I wanted to thank all of you for your feedback. Very helpful. I will take it in and have it looked at.
