Default Auto trak 2 in regular transfer case

I was browsing the forums on what fluid to use for my t case, and saw a lot of auto trak ii or regular atf. What I didn’t read was auto trak ii is only for auto awd. I have the 3 button system so no auto.

Is auto trak ii the same as atf or will I have to drain/refill with atf to avoid damage

Auto Trak II should work just fine in the 3 button transfer case (NV233) it's just expensive. It has friction modifiers that are required by the viscous coupling in the auto t-cases (NV236/NV136) and not present in ATF.
