automatic lights...
my question is there any way to disable the automatic lights in a 99 blazer lt? I read where you could put a resistor on the wires leading up to the sensor in the dash, but is there no fuse? or will simply unplugging the sensor not work? also, I just removed the relay for the DRLs and have not had any problems as far as high/low beams go, is there any danger in leaving it this way?
Do you have an owner's manual? I don't know what your light switch looks like, but if your headlight control switch has 3 different pictures around the ****, the middle one is for turning your lights on and off manually.
If you just pull the photo sensor in the dash the computer will see it as always dark and your lights will always be on. The resistor tricks the system into thinking that it is always light. Check out this thread. Its what I did and everything works exactly how I want it.

just pulling the DRL relay will cause you to only have one hi beam. Do a search and you will find out more about it but all you have to do is bend a tab on the relay. For the auto headlights the only way to do it it to put a 2.2k ohm resistor (i think) in plase of the sensor.
thanks for the link CodFos. i've been trying to figure out how to disable this ****ty feature also, 'cause there can't be anything more anoying then driving @ night, when some dumb *** infront of you can't see that he's driving slower than everyone else behind him, yet refuses to move aside. and i don't want to be the *******, who turns on his HB so he "notices" you, i'd rather just "flash" him. plus, it's kinda nice to be able to turn off your HL when you stop @ night without turning off your truck to do so-like when you're playing the "parking shuffle game" when you get home @ night.
I don’t know about you blazer but on mine, i have a dome override button next to the headlight switch.. if you press it four times you’ll hear a ding and your lights will turn off and then you’ll be able to use the switches.. The only thing is.. you’ll have to press it four times every time you start your truck because it resets every time.. hope that helps..

It took me 10 months to find that out, very useful at times
yeah, i've head about the "magical" 2 or 4 pushes of the dome override button, but that's a bit of a pain in the *** to do-each time you want/need it. there was another member on here (from Northern Ontario) that had "solved" the problem. if i can remember who it was, or where i found his posting, i'll put up a link to it.
This was such a dumb bloody error of GM's to have lights that never shut the hell up,my biggest foul with this feature is,what if i am many hours away from anywhere & my alt
