but blzR, your HL don't "automatically" turn on during the day, that's your DRL (daytime running lights), which are your high beams running @ 50% voltage.

I activate my Parking Brake. When the parking brake is on, or even partially, it will allow you to turn of the lights. At least on my 96 Jimmy

again, i think some of you guys are confusing the DRL's (daytime running lights) with your actual HL (head lights). yes, using your parking brake will turn off your DRL's, but only during the day. if you have the auto light feature, and it's dark out, you can't turn off your HL once your parking brake has been released.

I think old skool luvr is completely right, you guys are confusing your DRL's with your HL's. When I deactivated my DRL's last year my head lights still automatically came on when the little photo-resistor, or light sensor, told them to. It's two different systems all together, and like old skool said, once you release your parking brake your supposed auto headlights will come on but if you push it back down they wont turn off unless you turn the car off, whereas the DRLs will turn on and off when ever you push the parking brake or release it. Also, if you have a '98 or anything newer then the DRLs and high beam will be on the inside of the headlight and the and the actual headlights will be on the outside of the headlight if that makes any sense. It's been a while since I've had my 97 so I'm not sure what the difference is for anything older than a 98.

Just thought I would help clear things up.

Ive also done the quad headlight mod and deactivated my DRLs and my auto headlights.

I also agree with old skool luvr and CodFos ... I also did the quad headlight mod and deactivated my DRLs and my auto headlights and installed HID's
