Default Backup lights 1999 Blazer

I have a 1999 Blazer 2 wd drive. My backup lights don't work. The bulbs are good the fuse under the hood is fine. Where is the switch located on this Blazer. It has a auto trans. There is a black box on the drivers side of the trans. lots of wires going to it . Is it located in that cluster? Thanks for any help.

There are two fuses in the underhood fuse box; "VEH B/U" (15A) and "B/U LP" (25A) that need to be good to allow the backup lamps to function.

To answer your question on where the backup switch is, yes, it is part of the shifter position switch located on the side of the transmission.

Power feeds into the connector on this switch through cavity C on the gray connector which is a pink wire from the B/U LP fuse. When the backup switch is triggered, power feeds through the switch and out through cavity F on the gray connector which is a gray wire. Power then flows to the VEH B/U & TRL B/U fuses in the underhood fuse block then on back to the lamps themselves.

I just checked the B/u Backup light fuse. I didn't notice the other one. I will check that one when I get home. Thanks

I checked the other fuse. It was ok. When I put it in reverse it that fuse had power to it. I checked the bulbs in the back. Just a lot of rust in the socket. Cleaned it good put in new bulbs and they worked
