Yes that is correct. Has the outer ring on your balancer slipped? Maybe checking with a piston stop is in order?

Thanks for info. Started up no problem gonna put a new balancer. Never had an issue like that.

Ok so it's running and still throwing a p0300 could the balancer cause a multiple misfire code? Keep in mind I've replaced cap rotor and gear and crank and cam shaft sensor. Plugs and wires Also.

From factory manual: See 4th down. Does it actually feel like it is missing? Did you verify that the balancer ring has turned by using a piston stop? Also you should be aware that replacing the crank sensor requires the sensor relearn to be done or false misfire codes can appear from that as well.

I always say to test the misfire detection system by monitoring the misfire pids for all 6 cylinders and inducing a miss on specific cylinders, one at a time. You would be surprised how screwed up the misfire detection can get. If it works properly when you induce a miss then it is fine. If it doesn't, then all bets are off for misfire codes being legit and the SES light staying off.
