Default Blower motor/ no heat?

Hello everyone,

I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer 2wd, 4 door blazer.

The blower motor quit working, but then would work every so often. Now it has completely stopped working. No speeds work, whether it be high, medium, or low. The vehicle produces plenty of heat.

I tried plugging in a new blower motor, and it still did not work.
I installed a new blower/heater switch in the dash, and it still does not work.
The fuse in the inside panel of the driver side is fine.

I have researched this a little and am still stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Kevin

There is a relay that controls high speed and a resistor module that controls the lower speeds. IIRC, both of them are under the hood. The resistor module bolts onto the top of the heater core box near the distributor and I think that the relay is near there as well. If it isn't there, then it'll be behind the glove box inside.

Mine also went out a few years back on my 96 Blazer & it ended up being the blower motor relay/resister. I forget where it's located though. Just replaced this on my 95 F150 last month.

where is the blower motor relay/resistor located on a 1996 chevy blazer. Can't seem to find a diagram online that shows where it's located.

Thanks for the help.

i had a real head ache with mine and i finally found a bad connector in front of the blower. it was the ground wire plug. it was completely melted where the ground wire went fwd from the blower, i just had to trace it. the blower would work in the lower settings on and off but as soon as you went to high the plug got to hot i guess. i bypassed it and so far so good. might be something to look into.
