Brake Lights won't go off

RE: Brake Lights won't go off
tee866, you are confusing the heck out of me. What fuse(s) are you talking about? Please be specific about the fuse name or number. Also, PLEASE, punctuate your responses with commas or periods so I know where one thought starts and or stops. You keep introducing more info in each post, which is GOOD but you need to organize the info. You just stated that the lights got brighter when you step on the brake. That tells me that the lamps that were on BEFORE you hit the brake pedal were the running / tail lamps and NOT the brake lights like you originally thought and now you say you can't get the vehicle to shift properly, which brings the Nuetral safety switch into play, and you say the ONLY thing you did was flip the Hazard lights on and off.
Fuse 1 = Stop/Hazard (20 amp) hot all the time
Fuse 16 = Turn/Back-up lamps (15 amp) Hot with ignition on
Fuse 18 = Brake (20 amp) Hot in RUN
Do your turn signals function properly? Do you have cruise control? Do all the functions of the multi-function switch work properly i.e. wipers, cruise, windshield mist, flash to pass, hazard lights?

RE: Brake Lights won't go off
ok sorry to be confusing, the fuse im talking about is the number 1 fuse for the stop brake lights, yes the cruise control and everything else works, what i was trying to say is we put the number 1 fuse back in and the brake lights were on all the time but got brighter when you hit the brakes,i know its the brake lights because even the high bar lights are on,turned the hazard lights on then off and the brake lights were working normal, ie not on except for when you hit the brake peddal, but the car would not go out of park.Taking the fuse out let you take it out of park, and the lights still worked normally, but as soon as you put the fuse back in the light's stayed on again.does this help?
