Brake recommendations
I have used the centrics from rock auto and had no complaints. rock auto also has complete kits with all the rotors, pads and calipers for one price. these are good values and work just fine. the BIGGEST problem with the brakes are the pad mounts. these may have stainless clips on them that the pads are meant to slide on. the problem is behind the clips, the iron brackets rust up and swell and grab the pads and prevent them from sliding properly. use a wizzer or small grinder and clean these areas down to clean metal and then anti-seize the crap out of them! take only a few thousandths off these areas or the pads will clunk when applied. the o.e ceramic pads are the best for these trucks, on or off road. I usually get the part number from rock auto and then do a search of that number on eBay and can find the same kits or parts at the same or better price with free shipping. rock auto needs to get with the program and offer free shipping. you spend a couple hundred bucks on parts and they want to nick you another 25-40 dollars or more for shipping, and being in Wisconsin like I am, they add on state sales tax!. end of rock auto rant. hope this info helps with the braking situation.
