thats so interesting what you guys are saying about the ABS units having to be done with the scanner or by pressure. im not trying to argue or saying your are wrong its just crazy that ive done masters, lines, wheel cylinders, you name it on every make and model including a crap ton of s10s and alot of therm have been bled dry by owners driving them for a long period of time like that and i have never had any issues getting air out of the braking systems by simply pumping the pedal and cracking the bleeders.

guess im just lucky

Thanks for your help, everyone.
I bled the master cylinder and then the rear brakes and now the pedal starts near the top, and the brake like went out.

Just FYI, I bought the male hose end connectors from home depot, they worked out well. I used clear tubing bought from ACO for the hose.

Again, Thanks for your help!

After driving the car for a few days now, I've realized that the pedal is still kind of low. There's pressure from the start, but the brakes don't seem to really start 'til around halfway down. Still air in the system? Do you think it is probably in the front two calipers or does it have something to do with the ABS automated bleed some of you fellas were talking about?

Sounds like air somewhere.
Did you bench bleed the master cylinder in a vise?
Did you do the automated bleed?
Did you bleed each wheel after the automated bleed?

I bench bled the master cylinder in a vice, yes.
I also bled the two rear wheels.

I did not bleed the front wheels nor did I do an automated bleed.
I don't know what an automated bleed is.
