Default Location of Clutch Master Cylinder

Question
Where exactly in the clutch master and slave cylinders located. I thought that the Master was connected to the pedel assembly and the slave was connected to the transmission itself. The mecanic told me that they were located inside the transmission housing. Is this true and if it is would it be better to also change the complete clutch assembly since the transmission would have to be dropped to get to the master cylinder. Want to see if this mechanic is blowing smoke up my ***

Default RE: Location of Clutch Master Cylinder

The clutch master cylinder is located between the brake master cylinder and the fender. It extends through the firewall and connects to the clutch pedal. A hydraulic line then goes from the master cylinder down to the transmission bell-housing where it connects through a quick connector that leads to the slave cylinder.

The bleed screw is located just above the quick connector for the clutch hydraulic line on the transmission bell-housing. Just make sure that when you bleed the system, that you keep the fluid level in the reservior. It doesn't hold a lot of fluid.
